When it comes to male bonding, the Bollywood boys are really good at that. Leave them together for one outdoor shoot — and they come back as backslapping buddies. One guy who has been bonding a lot lately with the King Khan is the dashing Arjun Rampal.

Darna Zaroori Hai Review - Rediff
29 Apr 2006 | 128570 views
This is a dodgy assignment. Imagine reviewing a horror film without giving anything away. Not really that hard if you watch your step, right? Now think of reviewing seven scary shorts, each with its own set of characters and twists where even a three-line summary of the story is bound to contain a spoiler, or at least a hint of one. So this piece you're reading now must be more overview than review, something that skirts around the stories and stays in the shadows.
It's possible I may have my facts wrong here -- feel free to write in and correct me -- but I think Darna Zaroori Hai marks a first for Indian cinema. It's our first real Portmanteau film, an anthology of stories in the same film, directed by different directors.
Three years ago, Ramgopal Varma triggered off an experiment. He combined six different stories in one film called DARNA MANA HAI. Continuing with the 'Darna' series, he narrates six different stories once again in his new outing DARNA ZAROORI HAI. The difference this time is that the six stories are directed by six different directors, unlike the first attempt that had one director [Prawal Raman] calling the shots.
Tales about the unknown and the mysterious always hold an attraction for the audience. But for any horror film to scare the living daylights out of the viewer, it ought to be embellished with blood curdling and spine chilling stories. That's the prime area where DARNA ZAROORI HAI falters.
Arjun Rampal has moved into to his new flat in Ritu apartments on the ninth floor, at Bandra Bandstand with his wife Mehr Jessia and two baby daughters, (three and a half year old Mahika and nine month old Maira).
Earlier, they were living in a 3BHK flat in Diamond apartments on Mount Mary, Bandra. The new flat is a five-minute walk from Shah Rukh Khan's bungalow Mannat.
The Sun-drenched beaches of Goa got an extra splash when hotty Arjun Rampal was spotted there as he was shooting for Reema Katgi and Zoya Akatar's HONEYMOON TRAVELS PVT LTD. Says Arjun "I love Goa and had a blast with all my co-stars, especially with my friend Vikram Chatwal. It was fun to watch Kay Kay who is a brilliant actor, who has a terrific sense of comic timing". Incidentally this was Arjun's first time shooting in Goa and it helped revive his energies as due to immense public demand he is headed to perform for his loving audiences at the four biggest sectors, of the world shows New York, New Jersey, London and Birmingham along with co-star Akshay Kumar and team "HEAT".
